Ecoff Pow Wow

Back in November, the 2nd grade held an Indian Pow Wow at the school. I wasn't able to go because I was in the middle of trial, but the school tapped it and sold DVD's Emma is in Mrs. Hensel's class. You will find her chewing on her nails, and giving one of the boys in her class the business because he was in the wrong spot.

January over already?

So it is already the end of January. Hard to believe. Papa is doing better. We hope he will be back from the Cleavland Clinic sometime this week. The weather here in VA has been crazy!!!!!!! Snow, rain, ice, rain, cold warm....... I can't wait till March and it starts to warm up. Emma has been busy back at school. She had a book report due this week on fairy tales, which was like pulling teeth to get her to finish. She put it off to the last minute as always, and ended up not having her friend spend the night because she still had to finish........

Scott is busy at work as always. He finally has a really good staff, but they keep him hoping.

Work has been a little bizarre for me. The partner I work for gave notice last week about leaving the firm. While it is nerve racking to loose a partner, I still have the associate I work for, and non of the clients are going with him. I have also picked up some extra responsibilities with the firms IT department to keep me busy. Kind of scary considering that Circuit City just laid off their entire legal department in Richmond and the market is flooded right now. But I had a great review, and a wonderful raise, so we are holding out collective breath that everything will pan out alright.
Dancing is in full swing and the recital dances are being taught. Emma's costumes are red, black and white. Kinda cute this year. The new studio is much less aggressive than her last, and I think she is enjoying it more.
Her daddy and I are enjoying the new treadmill as we don't have to go outside to walk as the weather has been so funny lately. We have both been continuing to work out at the gyms at our offices and are continuing to see success. Hopefully we will both be more ready for the beach by July!!!!!

Prayers for Choo Choo Papa

We found out this weekend, that papa has been in the hospital. He went to have his pace maker changed and found out he had an infection. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he has a test this morning to see if the infection has infiltrated the leeds on the pace maker. We love you papa and miss you. Hope you have some pretty nurses to look at :)

Longing for warmer days

Oh the warm days of spring and summer. This cold weather is for the birds and I hate it. So does Scott. It means her will spend most of the weekend at work as heat pumps will be going out left and right. Good weekend to go see a movie. Maybe Marley and Me. FINALLY!!!!!!

Eye surgery

So I have chickened out. I had Lasik surgery scheduled for January 19 and I can't go through with it. I am so afraid that it will not work or I will be that .001% that can never see again. Maybe by next year I will have the guts to try again :) So instead of the surgery, I bought a new treadmill for the house. Scott and I have really been working hard, his cholesterol has gone from 425 down to 160. His doctor was amazed. I'm actually amazed at myself too. I have been trying different recipes and cooking more. I can't wait for it to come in. It has a great feature that it sets the work out plan for you, so you have no choice but to follow it. Something that will indeed help me and Scott stay on track.
Emmie is doing good, we are working on her new book report "fairy tales". Scott is down in NC again this week for another manager training class. He is really doing well with this position, he has a great team in place, and has really gotten his own management style
While it is cold down here (37 burrrrr) I hope our northern neighbors are staying warm, because it is just down right Arctic up north.
Happy Wednesday

The New Year

It is so hard to believe that it is already the 2nd week of January, and the school year is half over. All the Christmas decorations are stowed till next year, and we are back to the normal routine. Scott and I have begun a serious weight loss program, and we have been doing great. I have lost 12 pounds so far and he has lost 7. We have both been using the gyms at our offices, and I have been walking on the weekends too. God knows our fatty 2 fatty dogs can use the walks too, and it is kind of a nice time to clear my head. My goal is to not have to wear a swimsuit at the beach this summer that requires a skirt to cover my extra large tush.
Emmie is busy back at school, and she loves her new pink cell phone. Yes you heard it right, I finally broke down and added her onto our plan. We switched from NTELOS to Sprint, and she has a real phone (her words) now. She can text better than her daddy. It's kind of funny to wake up in the morning and find a silly text on your phone from her.
She also loves her new digital camera. She got a nice one from Grandma for Christmas, but unfortunately the screen didn't work properly, so we had to exchange it. But she has been busy taking pictures of everything from the dogs, to her toe jam.
The weather has just been perfect, you can't ask for anything better than 50 degrees in the middle of January.
So that's our small update, if I can ever figure out the photo program on the computer, I will upload some pictures......
Her dance costumes are really cute this year, red and black, and the recital is set for May 15 and 16, with the rehersal May 12

The end of 2008

This year was a very busy year for us. While alebit a good one, just busy. We had a wonderful summer and Em's Cheerleading kept us pretty busy. Everyone is healthy and happy which is all that really matters. Emmie finally had a break through in school and is understanding and enjoying it more. 2009 seems to be looking like a great year too. We have 2 great vacations planned (one to the Outer Banks and one to Disney for Christmas). While we don't have any snow down here in VA, the weather has been beautiful, and for that we have been thankful. Here's to having a great 2009.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
